THE WINERY
In the heart of Aveyron, a beautiful region whose gastronomy is as rich as its past, is located Vallon de Marcillac. Vines are planted on the best hillsides of red clay and limestone, some of which have a slope of 65%.
Four generations have run Domaine du Cros and it is now Philippe Teulier who is at the head of the estate. Until 1982, there was just one hectare of vineyard but it now spreads over 25 ha, of which 21 ha in Marcillac AOC. Fer Servadou, also called « Mansois » in Aveyron, is the main grape variety (minimum 90%) of their powerful and well-structured red wine. This varietal may be blended with Cabernet or Merlot depending on the vintage.
With its deep red colour and purple hues, this wine has a subtle berry flavour.
