Domaine Nigri was founded in 1685, in Monein, near the city of Pau. It has belonged to the Lacoste family for four generations and has been run by Jean-Louis Lacoste since 1993. Trained as an oenologist, he restructured and modernized the estate applying the methods he learnt from his experience in Bordeaux as well as in foreign countries. He bought several plots in the area close to his estate and several hectares planted with Gros Manseng have been replaced with Petit Manseng in order to increase his production of sweet wines of high quality.
The 17th century buildings were restored and the cellar was modernized to improve sanitary standards.
Grapes for their sweet Jurançon wine are hand-picked one by one and shrivelled. Fresh and well-balanced, they reveal exotic and candied fruits aromas with notes of wood, spices and honey.
Wines with a strong personality, reflection of the Pyrenean terroir!
