« The oldest vines in the world »
The vines of the « Domaine Lafond » were planted in 1880, just after the phylloxera epidemic and they are still productive today, which ranks them among the oldest one in the world.

This « rosé » wine is characterized by a pure and tender pink colour. Dominant flavours are complex, with a combination of red and white flesh fruits with a floral note.

With time these aromas evolve towards more smoother notes, with a touch of spices and stone fruit, whilst the colour changes to an amber glint.

Grape varieties : Grenache, Syrah.

To be drunk young 10-12°C Withs starters, poultry, white meat, Asian dishes, brandade, fish soup.

THE WINERY
The Domaine Lafond, located in the Rhone Valley, between Tavel and Lirac, has been in the family for several generations. Their vineyards (68 ha) are mainly planted with Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Carignan. The Lafonds own one of the oldest productive vineyards in the world. They were planted on pebbly ground terraces around 1880, just after the phylloxera crisis.

In Roc Epine, the choice of the vine plant is always made according to the characteristics of each plot and it is the diversity of soils and subsoils (slate, limestone, sand and clay) which makes it possible for the winegrower to produce complex, harmonious and balanced wines.

Besides, the quality is the same from one vintage to another thanks to a constant sun exposure and the harsh Mistral. After and during manual harvests, grapes are selected and arrive in perfect condition to the cellar. The fermentation then lasts 8 to 10 days in order to keep the freshness and the fruitiness of the grapes.
