THE WINERY  
The origins of the Courbis family estate date back to the 16th century. Located in Châteaubourg, Ardèche, Domaine Courbis owns 26 hectares.

Three appellations are produced on south-east facing steep terraces: Cornas, Saint Joseph Rouge (granite soils for the first two appellations) and Saint Joseph Blanc (limestone soil). Limited to the village of the same name, Cornas is one the tiniest appellation in France. Supple and fresh on the palate, this wine is only made with Syrah.

In order to preserve the environment and to produce authentic wines, the brothers Laurent and Dominique Courbis have opted for a policy of culture raisonnée de la vigne (reasoned grapevine culture) with limited yields (30hl/ha) and manual harvests.

Courbis wines are some of the most compelling examples of Saint Joseph, rich, intense and beautifully made. A name to watch!!!
