Uruguay made by French !!!...or… Uruguay seen by the French. 
In a country where the vineyard represents just one percent of the total agricultural surface, François and Jacques Lurton have made a bet to produce reliable wines.
And the result is there : they have gained here a wine which marks itself by an important aromatic intensity owed to the climate anything while keeping elegance and delicacy. To drink young with grilled meats and cheeses.
Sampling:
Eye : nice ruby dress which impresses by it’s depth
Nose : small red fruits (currant, raspberry), black fruits after ventilation (blackcurrant, blackberry)
Mouth : suppleness from the tanins ally to the frankness and the balance of the Merlot. The intensity of the Tannat is present with the notes of red and black fruits. Beautiful aromatic perseverance at the end of the mouth.

| THE WINERY | |

Jacques and Francois are the sons of the renowned Bordeaux producer, André Lurton. They set up their own company in 1988 and planted vines in 6 countries (Argentina, Australia, Chile, Spain, France and Uruguay) in order to produce fine and easy-to-drink wines. Each cuvée has its own style but they all have an excellent quality-price ratio.
« Casilla Dorada » is produced in Urugay, near Montevideo. Grapes are hand-picked and yields are kept lower than usual. Vinified separately but similarly, two grape varietals are blended in order to offer the chance to discover Uruguay at a moderate cost through this interesting wine:
- Tannat is a tough grape variety. It gives the wine a deep red colour as well as velvety tannins thanks to a soft pressing.
- Merlot gives to the wine fruit and suppleness.
Easy to drink, round and well-balanced, Casilla Dorada possesses notes of redcurrants, raspberries and ripe blackberries.
