Significant in terms of quality as well as size, Domaine Filliatreau has always been run by father and son and now belongs to Paul and Frédérik Filliatreau. The estate is located near the city of Saumur, at 6 km, in a village called Chaintres. It is the largest single estate in the Saumur Champigny appellation with 40 hectares of vineyards.
Thanks to innovative methods and a strong passion for great wines, the Cabernet Franc grape variety, managed along organic lines, produces typical wine of high quality from the typical ‘tuffeau’ limestone bedrock of the estate. Each plot is vinified separately in order to offer a range of various delicious wines, each wine having its own characteristics.
Their Saumur Champigny wines are fresh and for drinking young wines with sweet strawberry, cherry notes.
