Besserat de Bellefon
In 1843, Edmond Besserat decided to produce his own Champagne in Aÿ under the Besserat name. His son, Victor Besserat, and his grandchildren in turn acquired a passion for elegant, fine and light Champagne and worked hand in hand to build the name of the House Besserat. In 1927, Edmond Besserat, a grandson, married Yvonne de Méric de Bellefon and from their marriage was born the brand Besserat de Bellefon.
In the thirties, Victor Besserat, the founder’s son, created a Champagne “with a light sparkle, fine froth, great finesse, specially made to drink throughout a meal” for the owner of a famous Parisian restaurant. This challenge gave birth to the jewel of the House, la Cuvée des Moines.
Afterwards, Besserat de Bellefont was a full success and took on an international dimension in 1972 with its integration into the Groupe Marne & Champagne founded by Gaston Burtin in 1933.
Marie-Laurence Mora, heiress of the House, offers Champagne Besserat de Bellefon a new showcase, decidedly trendy in design: an exclusive model with a fine, long neck inspired by an 18th century bottle. Its fine bubbles and fresh aromas will perfectly accompany your most wonderful diner[g]. |
