THE WINERY
The Domaine de Beauregard, one of the greatest estates in the South of Burgundy, has belonged to the Burrier family for 5 generations and owes its name to the location of the estate which enjoys a magnificent view of the famous Vergisson and Solutré Rocks.
The 36,5 ha of the Maconnais vineyard stretches across 6 different appellations: Pouilly-Fuissé (19 ha), Saint-Veran (7 ha), Fleurie (6 ha), Moulin-à-Vent (3 ha), Beaujolais Villages (1 ha) and Mâcon Vergisson (0,5 ha).
Part of the greatest terroirs of the region, their miscellaneous plots are either stony and rich in lime, facing South or they are composed of shallow chalky soils with a hint of clay. Yields are rather low and grapes are harvested at peak optimum ripeness. Their vineyards are cultivated with respect for the environment as a top priority. Manual harvests are followed by fruit selections on a vibrating sorting table.
The quality of the soil and of the vines, a slow and natural vinification, as well as a long aging on the lees, mostly in oak barrels, allows these wines to fully express all the nuances of the terroirs and of the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Gamay and Merlot varieties.
