Château Le Crock, Cru Bourgeois Supérieur of the Saint-Estèphe appellation, covers 32,5 hectares of gravel and clay vineyards. Two Grands Crus Classés, Château Cos d’Estournel and Château Montrose are its neigbours. Since 1998, Didier Cuvelier has invested vast sums of money to renovate the vat room. Stainless steel tanks of different size were purchased to obtain a plot-by-plot vinification.
Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (25%), Cabernet Franc (10%) and Petit Verdot (5%) have a remarkable average age of 35 years. Grapes are manually harvested and destemmed. After a traditional vinification, the wine mature between 18 and 20 months in oak barrels, which are one third new.
Château Le Crock is a true reflection of its terroir and reveals a great regularity!
