	THE WINERY

	Château Calon-Ségur, Troisième Cru Classé of the Saint Estèphe appellation, is located on a commune which used to be called “Calones” and then “Saint-Estèphe-de-Calon” until the 18th century. The Marquis de Ségur, who owned the chateaus Lafite et Latour, received through marriage the château Calon and its estate. Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (30%) and Cabernet Franc (10%) cover 60 hectares of hilly and gravelly which are still enclosed by walls. After huge investments and a complete reorganization, the last vintages are very good natural wines with a good aging potential.
