	THE WINERY

	Château Ausone is a small wine estate with only 7 ha of vines planted on the mountainsides of Saint-Emilion and on the tablelande of Saint-Marton. However, Château Ausone is Premier Grand Cru Classé A of Saint-Emilion. The property owes its name to the fourth century Gallo-Roman poet Ausonius. Since the 17th century, the Vauthier family has the same policy : produce top-quality wine with pure aromas. Vines of Merlot and Cabernet Franc have an average age of 50 years and benefit from an excellent terroir with a Southern exposure and a limestone soil. The Petrus of Saint-Emilion!
