THE WINERY
The name of Château La Rame, which means “Le Roc” in old French (the rock), reveals the quality of its soils for growing grapes. Château La Rame is one of the oldest and one of the most renowned estates in the Bordeaux wine area. It was even recognised as a Premier Cru Classé by the Bordeaux traders at the beginning of the 20th century.
Yves Armand, a young and impulsive wine grower, strives to apply traditionnal practices such as manual harvests, limited yields, selection of grape musts and fermentation in oak barrels to obtain mellower woody flavours.
