	THE WINERY

	One of the most renowned estate in the Côtes de Blaye appellation area, Château Bertinerie has remained in the Bantegnies family for almost two centuries. Its 60 ha vineyards are run according to the principles of innovation, tradition and experience. The estate has been growing “lyre” trained vines in order to obtain grapes which are richer in tannins and have a greater finesse thanks to a better sun exposure. The terroir is cultivated and preserved with vegetal manure and a working of the soil in harmony with the seasons. The terroir and grape variety balance has always been sougth with the choice of Merlot and Cabernet for Château Haut-Bertinerie red wine. Vinified and aged in barrels, the great wines of Château Haut-Bertinerie, are the reflections of a noble terroir of old vines. White or red, Château Haut-Bertinerie also produces the “Best Clairet in the world”, which is traditionally vinified and is meant for lovers of rare wines.
