	THE WINERY

	Cru Classé de Graves since 1953, Domaine de Chevalier is located in a clearing, in the middle of a forest that protects the vines and shelters diverse ecosystems. The estate consists of 80 hectares but only 42 hectares of gravelly and sandy soils are under vine and managed after a long-term and ecological approach. Domaine de Chivaley (meaning “knight” in Gascon) became famous in a very short time compared to the centuries needed by most Bordeaux great growths. In 150 years, only 4 owners managed this estate and perpetuated a tradition of quality: grapes are sorted with uncompromising meticulousness in several waves. Domaine de Chevalier red wine is vinified in vats which have been especially designed for this estate. Their size enhances the natural extraction of colour and tannin. After a very long barrel ageing, this superb and famous wine reveals unique and particular aromas.
