Chateau Pichon-Longueville Baron, classified as Second Growth, is the result of the division of the former Pichon-Longueville estate which belonged to Jacques de Pichon, Baron de Longueville, in the late 17th century. Its magnificent chateau with its conical roofs and its circular white towers comes right out of a fairy tale. It was built by Raoul de Pichon-Longueville in 1851. Axa-Millésimes purchased the property in 1987 and have considerably renovated the estate and the chateau.
Its 70 hectares of vines with their gravelly soils benefit from an exceptional location close to Chateau Latour, its famous neighbour. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are planted on 95% of the vineyards, the remaining 5% are Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
One of the most sought-after Pauillac wines, the quality of Pichon Baron is steadily growing. Characterised by a great elegance, Chateau Pichon-Longueville Baron has an excellent cellaring potential.
