	THE WINERY

	The vineyards of Châteaux Chasse-Spleen are located near Pauillac, just after the village of Arcins. According to the legend, two famous poets baptise this Moulis en Medoc wine and make it know: Lord Byron and Baudelaire. Madame Castaing, the first owner who inherited the best parcels of the gravelly crest of Grand Poujeaux, had the good sense to listen to them and made her wine one of the most recognized of the Medoc. Châteaux Chasse-Spleen with its vineyards of 80 hectares planted to Cabernet Sauvignon is remarkably well exposed and benefits from a well drained subsoil. Cru Bourgeois and Grand Cru Exceptionnel since 1932 with only 5 other chateaux, Château Chasse-Spleen is a high quality wine, worthy of a Thrid Growth Grand Cru. A charming long keeping wine, Châteaux Chasse-Spleen is deep and concentrated.
