Château Patache d’Aux is located in the middle of the village of Bégadan and has belonged to the Lapalu family since 1964. That year, Claude Lapalu returned from Tunisia where his family was installed for several generations. His son, Jean-Michel Lapalu, succeeded him and founded the firm« Les Trois Châteaux » which has included Château Patache d’Aux since 1996.
This Cru Bourgeois of the Médoc appellation with its 43 hectares of vines is now part of the Lapalu Estates. Château Patache d’Aux owes its name to its former function: it used to be a stagecoach inn.
Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are the two main grape varieties planted on this terroir of clay and limestone soils. After 12 months of aging in oak barrels, the wine finally reveals its fragrances from cedar, vanilla and fruits. With its velvety and powerful tannins, Château Patache d’Aux has a good ageing potential.
