Château Dauzac, Cru Classé since 1855 (Classified as Fifth Growth), is located in the heart of the famous Médoc wine region, within close proximity to the Gironde estuary. With the vines of the 40-hectare estate, two Margaux appellation wines are produced.
The vineyard lies on a bed of deep gravel one of the most interesting terroirs to be found) and is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc with a relatively young average age of vine between 18 and 20 years.
Vintages of a regular quality place Château Dauzac at the top of the Margaux appellation.
Their second great wine, La Bastide Dauzac, is mostly produced with younger vines of Château Dauzac but the vinification process and the quality approach remain the same.
